International Partners

Over the years, PARC has developed international partnership with Jamaican, Hungarian, and Japanese Youth-In-Care. PARC has a leading role in providing valuable information, techniques, and experiences to our international partners to develop useful programs for youth-in-care to go through the transition from "In-Care" to Independent living more successfully.

The Canada Kid's 2000 Make It Happen

From August 14 - August 16, 2000 the PARC Network Group organized an unique project in Toronto. Youth in care from Japan, Hungary and Jamiaca were hosted for two weeks by youth at PARC. The Network Group has developed a working partnership with youth living in an "orphanage" in Szolnok Hungary who are a part of an arts and crafts group. They have also developed long standing partnership with the St. Patrick's Youth Group in inner city Kingston, Jamaica. Last summer 6 members of the Network Group were invited to conduct a speaking tour of Japan. The project hosted by the Shiseido Foundation of Japan was designed for youth and child welfare staff to develop a "PARC" like service in Japan. After last summer the Network Group felt it was time to have our partners meet, share and develop ways of working together.

More Reports will be posted soon.
